Blaxploitation movie legend Lincoln Kirkpatrick has died after a long battle with lung cancer.

The 73-year-old actor appeared in more than 40 movies, including UPTOWN SATURDAY NIGHT and HOODLUM.

He also shot to TV fame in America by starring at LIEUTENANT MICHAEL HOYT in hit show MATT HOUSTON.

Kirkpatrick earned his acting break by understudying for Sidney Poitier in the play A Raisin in the Sun.
