Pop star Lily Allen has posted a scanned picture of a sick note from her doctor on the internet in a bid to explain to fans why she cancelled four performances.
The 22-year-old LDN singer wrote on her MySpace blog that she has "sinusitis and strep throat", claiming she doesn't even know what that is.
Along with the note, she added that the doctor had advised her to take a couple of weeks off to recover, meaning she would have to miss four scheduled European festival performances.
She said: "I've have literally been around the whole world in two weeks, from London to Japan around Australia and then to LA and Vegas then back to LA for a 17-hour video shoot."
Lily, who has frequently expressed her dislike of travelling the globe to play gigs, especially in America, said she is now back home "eating my mum's chicken soup" and recovering.
"Before anyone starts trying to accuse me of neglecting my fans I want to apologise and say how sorry I am, but I can't risk causing any permanent damage," she wrote.
