Lily Allen is spending a fortune on extra policing at her upcoming wedding as she fears the high-profile nuptials will upset her neighbours.
The Smile hitmaker is due to wed fiance Sam Cooper later this month (Jun11) at a church near her countryside home in south west England.
It recently emerged extra cops will be on hand to ensure the event runs smoothly - and Allen has now revealed she is personally footing the security bill to minimise any disturbances to her fellow residents in the quiet village.
She tells Ahlanlive.com, "Ahh yes, the police shutting down the roads. It's caused a bit of an uproar at home (U.K.). The village is fine with it, it was just the (British newspaper) Daily Mail readers up in arms saying why are we paying our taxes for her to be protected like the royals. Actually I'm paying a vast amount of money myself, it's all off-duty police officers who are going to be paid overtime.
"It's not like we demanded they close the roads down. The only reason I did it was for the residents otherwise there will be a million photographers driving up and down the roads. It's not really for me."
