Lily Allen vowed to help highlight the plight of the Amazon rainforest after she became tired of her "vacuous" and "pointless" life as a pop star.
The Smile hitmaker will take a hiatus from music later this year (10), and plans to use her time off to develop her business interests and start a family with boyfriend Sam Cooper.
She also plans to increase her charity work - and showed her mettle when she spent a week in the Brazilian state of Acre earlier this year (10) to film a documentary publicising the need for conservation efforts in the region.
And the pop star is adamant she was spurred into action after she became disillusioned with the rock 'n' roll lifestyle.
Speaking during her time in the jungle, Allen tells Britain's Mail on Sunday, "A lot of my life is very vacuous. It doesn't have a lot of substance and I guess I feel it's a bit pointless. And, yes, coming here makes me feel I can put my fame to good use. I'm not pretending to know everything and I don't understand this as well as I should, but I'm here to get my head around it."
