Lil Wayne, the multi award winning American rapper, is celebrating his 29th birthday today (27th September 2011). The Cash Money star, real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, released his latest LP 'Tha Carter V1' in August, selling more copies in its first week than any album this year.
Weezy's birthday comes just days after he launched a scathing attack on the American right wing political parties, most notably the Tea Party Republicans. During an interview with Vibe magazine, the rapper suggested the party's disrespect for President Barack Obama has more to do with his race than his policies, saying. "You learn from what the right-wing is doing and you take something from it.I feel like as a people the most that we can do is better ourselves and learn. You have to make the most of who you are because the Republicans are never going to like us". Wayne, who recently served a one year jail sentence on Rikers Island, has recorded an unlikely collaboration with pop star Joe Jonas. The rapper has signed up for the remix of 'Just in Love' - the second single from Joe's forthcoming solo album 'Fastlife'.
It is not clear how Lil Wayne is celebrating his 29th birthday, although he may be preparing for his upcoming Australian dates with fellow rapper EMINEM.
