Bankroll Fresh, who was affiliated with 2 Chainz, was hit multiple times on Friday (04Mar16) outside the Street Execs Studios in northwest Atlanta. The 28-year-old Hot Boy star later died of his wounds at Hughes Spalding Hospital.
According to news outlets, police found more than 50 shell casings inside and outside the recording studios, although they have yet to name any suspects or possible motives.
2 Chainz paid tribute to his collaborator on Twitter.com on Saturday (05Mar16), writing, "Man I'm a fan of Bru (sic) and always will be, I'm in shock at the moment!! Senseless deaths we just got to stop it, I'm speaking up now... It was all good 4 days ago R.I.P Bru... rip @1yungfresh atl #legend, infinite potential."
He also shared photos of Bankroll Fresh on Instagram.com, captioning one shot, "Bru made me laugh without tryin (sic), lit up any room, real street dude..."
"The list of young talented kids who died before they could really get a chance to make it,gettin longer than the ones who actually DO get to MAKE IT," mourned Atlanta native T.I.
Fabolous added, "This is how crazy life & death is. You don’t know when your last times are. Live life. Celebrate life. Respect life. Solid dude & hardworker taken before he could see his hard work pay off".
Meanwhile, Joe Budden wrote, "Rest in Peace Bankroll Fresh.... No I didn't know him but humanity..." and Outkast's Big Boi shared a link to the news story, and simply added, "RIP".
