British rocker Liam Gallagher is hoping to finalise his divorce from Nicole Appleton in the coming weeks so he can focus on settling a financial battle with the mother of his love child.

The former Oasis star split from the All Saints singer last year (13) after it emerged he had fathered a daughter with New York-based journalist Liza Ghorbani.

He is currently going through divorce proceedings with Appleton and fighting to settle a multi-million dollar child support battle with Ghorbani, and his lawyer, Raoul Felder, is adamant the musician needs to resolve the issues with his estranged wife before he can sort out the other case, telling the New York Post, "The divorce in Britain is a complicating factor."

Gallagher was unable to attend a progress hearing in the Big Apple on Monday (29Sep14) as part of the child support case due to the ongoing divorce matters so he took part by phone.

Justice Laura Drager noted the star was having trouble "securing some funds" and ordered him to attend a deposition in person in New York City on 21 November (14).
