The former Oasis frontman has not produced any new music since his band Beady Eye split in 2014, and his brother Noel, who has had a rocky relationship with his sibling for years, has previously insisted Liam should go solo.

Liam has now made steps to rule out the possibility of a solo release by posting an apparently unprovoked, expletive-ridden message on his account.

He wrote, "Solo record are you f**king tripping d**khead im (sic) not a c**t LG."

Noel told Britain's Q magazine in 2014 that Liam would not be out of the music spotlight for long after the Beady Eye split, saying, "I'm very f**king sad about Beady Eye, because I know they really wanted to make it work. I wanted it to work for them. I was out with (Beady Eye guitarist) Gem Archer the other night.

"The vibe I'm getting is that it was a shock, although not completely surprising... I'm amazed Liam has chucked it in (give it up), but he won't stay out of the limelight for long. I think Liam should make a solo record - put his b**ls on the line, put his name up in lights and go for it."
