The former Oasis star has been locked in a legal battle with journalist Liza Ghorbani, the mother of his two-year-old lovechild Gemma, since the tot was born.

He has been fined by the court several times for missing hearings and the case had been due to go to trial this week (ends29Mar15).

However, Gallagher managed to reach a last minute agreement on Wednesday night (25Mar15), signing off on a child support deal just hours before he was due back in court.

The details of the settlement have been kept confidential, but the New York Post reports it is in excess of $5,000 (£3,125) per month.

Gallagher's lawyer Raoul Felder says, "A settlement has been offered. We hope to announce it to the court first thing on Thursday."

Ghorbani's attorney, Ira Garr, adds, "I believe there will be a settlement."

The singer is currently fighting another legal battle back home in his native U.K. as he is in the process of divorcing his pop star wife Nicole Appleton. The marriage crumbled after it was revealed he had fathered a lovechild with Ghorbani.
