Liam Gallagher was determined to enlist the talents of Rhys Ifans for the promo video of Oasis track THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING IDLE - because the Welsh actor's dancing had always impressed him.

Singer Gallagher persuaded his guitarist brother NOEL to let Notting Hill star Ifans play a comedy undertaker in the black and white, 1960s themed video.

He says, "I asked Rhys to do it, Noel was going to ask some other f**king idiot. I said, 'Nah man, Rhys is one of the boys, you know what I mean?' He's quite a dancer. He's top man.

"The video is basically him, I'm forever in his debt for it.

"I just wanted to do something that complemented the song, the song's a bit weird. So we thought that was the song to dress up like a f**king idiot."
