Pop star Leona Lewis landed a staggering $1.4 million (£1 million) pay cheque to perform at a recent private birthday party.
The singer made a surprise appearance at a 21st birthday bash for the daughter of British mobile phone mogul John Caudwell on Saturday (14Mar09) at the family's mansion in Staffordshire, England.
Lewis, who won British reality TV series The X Factor in 2006, performed seven songs - including a rendition of Happy Birthday - for Caudwell's daughter Libby, according to U.K. newspaper The Sun.
A spokesman for the star says, "She did perform at a private event, but all details are confidential."
