British comedian Lenny Henry is taking his diversity campaign to the U.K. government after launching a petition urging politicians to provide funding for ethnic minority programming. He has long called for more black, Asian and minority ethnic (Bame) actors to be employed both in front and behind the camera in the U.K., and now he is taking his drive to Parliament, calling on fans to add their name to an email petition aimed at U.K. Culture Minister Ed Vaizey, urging him to provide extra funding for Bame-focused Tv shows.
