Leeza Gibbons, the former US talk-show host who recent became engaged to boyfriend JAMES FENTON, says the 40-year-old proposed to her on the lawn of a house in Los Angeles that they had yet to buy, reports People Magazine.
Gibbons confirmed that the couple got engaged back in June 2010, and said, "He was on one knee and I was on Cloud 9! I have a ring but we decided that I won't wear it until we have a private exchange of vows". Fenton, who is 13-years younger than Gibbons, is the President of the Beverly Hills Board of Education, and the couple met after setting up a blind two years ago. Gibbons spoke about how she was initially worried by the age difference, saying, "In the beginning, the age thing tripped me up for a minute", but added, "I believe in love and I always held onto the belief that I would find it again but I didn't think it would come in the form of Steven".
Gibbons recently set up the 'Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation', inspired by her mother's struggle with Alzheimer's disease, and yesterday (16th November 2010) launched a new initiative 'Stand Together for AD', which gives advice on care-giving. Talking about the campaign, Gibbons said, "After seeing the two most important women in my life, my Mom and Grandmom, both die in slow motion, I know what an assault it is for families".
