Leelee Sobieski has joined the cast of 'Rookies', a television pilot produced by Robert De Niro.
LEELEE SOBIESKI, the American actress best known for her roles in 'Deep Impact' and the television movie 'Joan of Arc', is set to return to the small screen in a new cop show pilot produced by ROBERT DE NIRO, reports Deadline.comSobieski has signed on to star in the police drama 'Rookies', about the lives of six New York City rookie cops who attempt to balance policing the streets of Manhattan with their personal lives. The 28-year-old actress is set to play 'Gen Perry', who is described as "a golden-haired California girl and former member of the White House Color Guard who can handle herself whether dealing with a gang-banger or a busted toilet". Sobieksi, who recently guest starred on episodes of 'The Good Wife' and 'Drop Dead Diva', earned EMMY AWARD and Golden Globe nominations for her work on the 1999 movie 'Joan of Arc'.
As well as 'Rookies', 67-year-old De Niro is also set to produce the crime-drama movie '36', about two detectives battling for a promotion and he recently signed on to produce an as-yet untitled sequel to his 1996 movie 'The Good Shepherd'.
