Leelee Sobieski and Judy Marte have joined the cast of Robert De Niro's new cop show pilot 'Rookies'.
LEELEE SOBIESKI, the American actress best known for her appearance in the 1998 action-drama movie 'Deep Impact', has signed up to star in a new cop-show pilot that is being produced by ROBERT DE NIRO, according to Deadline.com.The pilot, which is said to follow the lives of six New York City cops who struggle to balance their hectic jobs with their personal lives, is set to go into production later this year. Richard Price, who wrote the screenplay for the Mel Gibson's 1996 movie 'Ransom' as well as numerous episodes of 'The Wire', has penned the pilot episode. It will be directed by James Mangold, who was behind the camera for the acclaimed Johnny Cash biopic 'Walk the Line' as well as the recent Tom Cruise action flick 'Knight and Day'. Sobieski, who earned an EMMY AWARD nomination for her role in the television movie 'Joan of Arc' will play a character named 'Gen Perry' who is described as being "a former member of the White House Color Guard who can handle herself whether dealing with a gang-banger or a busted toilet".
It is not yet known who 28-year-old Marte will play in the pilot. The actress is perhaps best known for her performance in the 2002 independent movie 'Raising Victor Vargas'.
