Leann Rimes is seeking $25,000 in damages for breach of privacy after two women posted a phone conversation with the star online.
Leann Rimes is suing two women for breach of privacy.
The 30-year-old singer - who checked into a rehab facility for stress and anxiety on Wednesday (29.08.12) - claims mother and daughter Kimberly and Lexi Smiley illegally recorded a phone conversation with her in March and posted parts of their discussion online.
The 'Can't Fight The Moonlight' hitmaker is seeking $25,000 in damages because she claims the women painted her in a ''false and negative light'' and alleged she was ''crazy and delusional.''
According to gossip website TMZ, the women are supporters of her husband Eddie Cibrian's ex-wife Brandi Glanvill, who he left for LeAnn.
Kimberly has denied the allegations, saying: ''The whole thing is just ridiculous. It's just a celebrity who's too full of herself.''
The secret recording occurred when the country music star was put in touch with the women to discuss negative comments they wrote about her online.
This news comes just after the country music star checked into rehab after her 30th birthday in order to deal with her anxiety issues.
She said: ''This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be.''
