Actress Leah Remini Has Praised Filmmakers And Ex-scientology Members For Their "Brave" Decision To Speak Against The Church In A New Documentary Called Going Clear: Scientology And The Prison Of Belief.
Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney's investigative film, inspired by Lawrence Wright's controversial book Going Clear, premiered on America's HBO network on Sunday night (30Mar15), nearly three months after it debuted at the Sundance Film Festival.
The film features interviews with several former high-ranking church officials and ex-members, including Crash director Paul Haggis, and Remini, who famously left Scientology in 2013 after 30 years in the church, took to Twitter.com after the documentary aired to commend Gibney and those involved.
She wrote, "Thank you to the brave who did something about it. And to those who didn't have a voice, you do now."
