Csi producers have moved fast in the wake of Laurence Fishburne's abrupt decision to leave the show after three years, casting the American actor Ted Danson as his replacement. Fishburne has signalled his intention to move back into the movie world, while Danson seems eager to continue his solid run on television, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Despite his new role on the crime-drama, Danson will keep his spot on HBO's 'Bored to Death', where he plays the quirky magazine editor 'George Christopher'. Fishburne severed ties with Csi just weeks before filming was due to begin on the upcoming series twelve, but producers appear to have moved quickly enough to begin filming on schedule. According to a CBS network press release, Danson "comes to the team as they are still grappling with the professional and personal fallout from last season's take-down of serial killer, Nate Haskell". Producer Don Mcgill was delighted with the new cast-member, saying, "From the moment we all started talking about the role, it was clear he couldn't be more perfect".
Since his departure from the show, Laurence Fishburne has begun work on the television movie 'Have a Little Faith', with Martin Landau and BRADLEY WHITFORD.
