Injured model Lauren Scruggs has reached an insurance settlement in her legal battle over a freak plane propeller accident which cost her a hand and an eye.
Scruggs sustained severe injuries after she was struck by the spinning blades of a two-seater plane in Texas in December (11).
She rejected a $200,000 (£125,000) offer from bosses at Aggressive Insurance Services this week (begs26Mar12), after being told the amount is the maximum the firm can pay out to an aircraft "passenger" - but Scruggs took issue with the wording and argued she should not be considered a passenger since she "was not in the aircraft or getting in or out of it at the time of the incident".
She filed suit against the company seeking unspecified damages, but the model and blogger has since called off the legal action after scoring a deal with the insurance firm's executives.
The terms of the agreement are confidential, but is thought to be far in excess of the $200,000 she was initially offered.
