The Bad Santa star is reprising her role as Lorelai Gilmore in the mini-series Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, which will air in America later this year (16), and she is planning to release the new book in conjunction with the premiere of the show.

"I thought that it was so kind of strange and wonderful to have played this character and to get to play her again that I started writing about it," she told TV host Ellen Degeneres. "I have a book of essays that are hopefully humorous, coming out concurrent when the show comes out. It's called Talking as Fast as I Can! for obvious reasons."

The book also features a chapter about Ellen and her influence on Lauren.

"I talk about how incredibly supportive and great you've been to me, and then there's a chapter called You Can't Be Vegan Just for Ellen because I've realised that over the years I've tried to be vegan but one of the real main reasons is 'cause I wanna be more like you, which I then also realised is the premise of the stalker film Single White Female," she joked.

Lauren and Ellen are currently working on a TV adaptation of the actress' first book Someday, Someday, Maybe: A Novel, which is a fictionalised account of her experiences living in New York in the 1990s.
