Laura Mvula prefers to perform at smaller gigs.
The 27-year-old singer-songwriter insists she is happier when she gets the opportunity to perform for an audience at an intimate venue because they are better suited to her voice and style of music.
Laura - who kicked off a series intimate gigs in conjunction with Mastercard's Priceless campaign at London's Kensington Roof Gardens on Thursday (17.01.14) - said: ''Getting the chance to sing to such a close and intimate crowd is amazing for me and my band as it suits my music perfectly.''
Laura performed a set of her hit singles including 'She' and 'That's Alright' for just 300 fans, before choosing one lucky member of the audience to meet her backstage.
Meanwhile, the 'Green Garden' singer has high hopes for 2014 following her nomination for the Best British Female Solo Artist at the BRIT Awards next month.
She gushed: ''It's only January and I've already been nominated for a BRIT Award and performed at a Priceless gig. Safe to say 2014 looks like it's going to be another whirlwind year.''
He also slapped a jet-lagged Taylor Hawkins.
