QUENTIN TARANTINO staged a mock killing of Laura Harring on American TV's JIMMY KIMMEL SHOW after the actress snubbed his efforts to cast her in KILL BILL.

The MULHOLLAND DRIVE star was Tarantino's first choice to play VERNITA GREEN in the Kill Bill movies - a part which ultimately went to VIVICA A FOX - but she had to turn it down because she was shooting WILLARD in Canada.

And, after poking fun at her as guest director on the Kimmel show on Tuesday (20APR04) night, Tarantino had Harring shot at the end of the programme as part of a mock massacre, sparked by the staging of the stand-off scene in Pulp Fiction.

Harring, whose new movie The Punisher came in second behind KILL BILL: VOL 2 at the American box office last weekend (18APR04), confessed, "I love the film. Quentin did an amazing job."

Tarantino kept interrupting the actress to ask, "What was the number one movie at the box office this weekend?" to which she replied, "Bite me."

To add insult to injury, Tarantino then showed a clip of his own film instead of a segment of The Punisher.
