Screenwriter Larry Cohen has opened up about the man who has been linked to the death of his sister, Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen, insisting there is "no way he was involved".
Harold Smith, who was described as a "person of interest" in the case, shot himself dead as cops approached him in the lobby of the Harvey Apartments in Los Angeles last week (01Dec10).
It has since emerged that Smith had allegedly bragged of murdering Chasen - who was gunned down as she drove home from the L.A. premiere of Burlesque last month (Nov10).
But now Cohen has spoken out about the reports, telling the New York Times, "This guy was a deranged person who just made that up; no way he was involved... I still think this was most likely a case of road rage."
The investigation into Chasen's death is continuing.
