A group of anti-eating disorder activists have taken aim at Lady GaGa for promoting dangerous and unhealthy dieting practices.
The Born This Way hitmaker, who formerly struggled with bulimia, has been encouraging fans to embrace their individual beauty, no matter their shape or size, for years.
In February (12), she proclaimed, "The dieting wars have got to stop. Everyone just knock it off. Because at the end of the day, it's affecting kids your age - and it's making girls sick."
But earlier this week (begs09Apr12) the superstar changed her tune and posted a note on Twitter.com, which read, "Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat".
And now officials at the National Eating Disorders Association (Neda) have reprimanded Gaga for sending a bad message to young girls, who idolise the singer.
Neda chiefs tweeted, "Huh? This is the same person who recently implored girls to stop dieting?"
And Gaga's followers were also taken back by the remark, responding with comments like, "Why would you even promote a message like that?"
