Lady GaGa is set to remain in the public eye by mentoring the remaining four contestants of this year's 'American Idol'. Lady Gaga, whose latest single 'Born This Way' went to number 1 in 17 countries, will share her musical poweress with the finalists, Fox has confirmed.

The news was first revealed by the show's host Ryan Seacrest, who wrote on his Twitter, 'I only have one word for our mentor on @AmericanIdol next week... Gaga.' Following the likes of Sheryl Crow and WILL.I.AM, Gaga will collaborate with the in-house mentor Jimmy Iovine, who also happens to be her record label boss, to give advice. She will be helping in picking songs from the catalogue of JERRY LEIBER and MIKE STOLLER (who are predominately known for their work with Elvis) for the finale on May 11 2011, for the four remaining contestants: Lauren Alaina, Scotty MCCreery, James Durbin and Haley Reinhart. Lady Gaga and Stevie Nicks are also set to perform at the finale.

Lady Gaga has just released the hotly-anticipated music video for her single 'Judas', of which she declared to E!, 'I don't view the video as a religious statement. I view it as social statement. I view it as a cultural statement. It's a metaphor. It's not meant to be a biblical lesson.' Her new album, 'Born This Way' is due 23 May (2011).
