The 30-year-old became a qualified driver after passing her test earlier in July (16), but on Friday (15Jul16), just weeks after her test, she was pulled over by a cop on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California.

Pictures of her traffic stop were published on, which showed the officer looking at her paperwork at the side of her red pick-up as Gaga can be seen talking to him through an open window.

Gaga has now taken to Twitter to explain the reason behind the stop and downplayed the incident, insisting she didn't commit a major driving offence.

"Ya I got pulled over," Gaga tweeted. "Big deal! I just haven't received plates yet for my new pick up!," followed by a series of punctuation marks which form a person shrugging.

The stop comes less than two weeks after pictures emerged on social media of her vintage blue car being towed by a truck in Malibu. One user asked Gaga what the problem with that car was, and the singer replied, "my transmission was leaking!"

At the start of July (16), the Poker Face singer announced she had passed her test on Instagram by posting a picture of herself behind the wheel of the red truck with a female passenger.

"Thelma and Puhleaaaze (And yes I FINALLY got my license after years of driving with an adult present and a learners permit)," she wrote. "I’M FREE. Rollin with the homies (sic)."

She also posted a snap of her sat behind a desk at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and wrote, "SCHOOLS OUT" followed by another of the singer on all fours on the road outside her test vehicle, as if she fell out the car. She explained, "And after I passed my driving test."
