Alphabeat are honoured to be touring with Lady GaGa.

The Danish pop group - who supporting Gaga on the 13 UK shows of her present Monster Ball tour - say it was an "honour" to be chosen as the support act for triple BRIT Award-winning singer.

Band member Stine Bramsen said: "Lady Gaga mentioned something positive about us in an interview once. Someone from our camp started talking to her people - and eventually she decided on us to support her.

"It is an honour. She is really extreme -I really admire how she pushes it every night."

The band - which also includes Anders SG, Anders B, Rasmus Nagel, Anders Reinholt and Troels Hansen - relocated to the UK in 2008, when they scored a number six single 'Fascination', but the group credit fellow Scandinavians the Swedes for helping them develop their retro 80s sound.

Alphabeat told BBC News: "We owe the Swedish a lot of the credit. They're just really good with melodies and they always have been. As Danes, we're just really pleased to be mentioned in the same breath as them and other Scandinavians."
