Lady Antebellum star Hillary Scott and veteran musician Bob Dylan were honoured for their songwriting skills at the SESAC Nashville Music Awards in Tennessee on Sunday night (28Oct12).

Scott was recognised in the country music category for writing the popular tune A Little Bit Stronger, which was recorded by Sara Evans, and three of her band's hits, Wanted You More, Dancin' Away With My Heart and Just A Kiss.

Meanwhile, Dylan was celebrated in the Americana genre for his contributions to Bonnie Raitt's album Slipstream, The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams and Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan.

Catt Gravitt was the big winner of the night after taking home the trophy for Songwriter of the Year for penning tunes like Jake Owen's Alone With You and Jana Kramer's Why You Wanna. Also feted was Jon Stone, who came up with Lee Brice's popular song A Woman Like You.

The annual even kicks off the Country Music Association Awards Week.
