BRITS bosses are desperate to employ Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams as hosts of the awards ceremony next year (04) - in a drive to bring more stars to the show.

The glitzy bash - which has been tagged Britain's answer to the GRAMMYS - has failed to attract big names over recent years because of the rising popularity of the MTV EUROPE AWARDS, but Brits chiefs are determined to make February's show a success.

And they believe singers Minogue and Williams - who duetted on hit track KIDS in 2001 - will provide a much needed burst of credibility and appeal to the annual event.

A source says, "It is often a big success when two very popular people host it together. Robbie is loved by the nation so would be perfect.

"The only problem is he doesn't need to do it. His profile doesn't need raising and he's unlikely to have an album to plug. Robbie is exhausted from his tour and wants to have a good rest next year.

"Kylie might be persuaded to say yes if Robbie agreed."
