British rocker KT Tunstall has vowed to stop wearing high-heeled shoes to awards ceremonies, after her fancy footwear ruined her experience at this month's (15FEB06) Brit Awards.
The Scottish singer/songwriter was determined to make a glamorous entrance, but spent the night terrified of falling off the stage.
And she admits she was particularly uncomfortable when she took the podium to collect her accolade for Best British Female Solo Artist.
She says, "My problem is that I'm rubbish in high heels.
"You always have to dress up for these occasions and I live in fear of being called to accept an award and tripping as I go to collect it.
"As I stepped up for my Brit award I kept thinking to myself, 'Whatever you do, don't fall.'
"Heels are a nightmare for me."
