The family of late British singer Kirsty Maccoll is ending a campaign seeking justice for her tragic 2000 death.
MACColl, who sang on The Pogues' hit 1980s track Fairytale of New York, was killed at the age of 41 when she was struck by a speedboat while diving in a watercraft-restricted area during a vacation in Cozumel, Mexico.
Her relatives subsequently launched the Justice For Kirsty campaign in a bid to urge Mexican authorities to launch an enquiry into the events surrounding her death.
But the activists are terminating their efforts after Mexican officials declared the case closed.
A statement from the group reads, "We are not able to bring any more pressure on the Mexicans than we have achieved already."
In 2003, deckhand Juan Jose Cem Yam was found guilty of culpable homicide, and escaped prison time after paying a fine of $97 (£61) and damages to MACColl's family.
