Kirstie Alley, the American actress and recent contestant on Dancing With The Stars, says she will pay the $41,000 in owed property taxes. Kirstie Alley was due to pay the tax bill on 1st April this year, but she called the non-payment an oversight, reports Yahoo News.
Pinellas County tax records show Alley owes $41,395 including fees and interest on a Clearwater Harbour mansion she bought for $1.73 million in 2008. The Cheers star, who finished runner-up on the reality dancing show, released a statement through her spokesman on Thursday, saying, "we were not aware of the amount owed, and her accountant never received the bill". Tax office spokesman Chad MCLeod confirmed one of Alley's representatives called and promised to send back a certified check. The actress is not the first Hollywood star to face tax problems this year, Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years imprisonment after being accused of failing to pay $15million in federal tax despite earning a reported $37 million between 1999 and 2004.
Kirstie Alley is set to star in the forthcoming comedy-romance 'Nailed', about a small town waitress who accidently gets a nail lodged in her head causing unpredictable behaviour. The movie has been directed by 'The Fighter's' David O'Russell and also stars Jake Gyllenhaal and JESSICA BIEL.
