Kirsten Storms is reportedly taking a break from General Hospital, just weeks after splitting with her co-star husband Brandon Barash.
The 32-year-old actress will be temporarily leaving the hospital soap for an undisclosed amount of time, Daytime Confidential reports on Friday (27May16).
Kirsten, who has played Maxie Jones on the show since 2005, will allegedly be replaced by Days of Our Lives star Molly Burnett from July (16).
No reason has been given for the hiatus, but the former Disney star and Brandon called it quits last month after three years of marriage (April16). The pair are also parents to two-year-old daughter Harper.
"We are splitting due to the cliche irreconcilable differences, but we’re splitting amicably,” the 36-year-old actor told Soap Opera Digest about the end of the couple's nearly three-year marriage.
"We have every intention of remaining a family through this and co-parenting our kid and retaining a friendship in the efforts of raising her in a healthy environment, " she explained.
"This was not a hasty decision; a lot of thought and therapy went into this. But we’ve decided that raising our daughter in two separate homes would be a healthier choice for all of us."
This isn't the first time that Kirsten has taken time off rom the daytime soap - she left her role for 10 months back in 2011 due to medical issues.
The actress has yet to comment on the report.
