Kirsten Dunst has now taken total control of her movie career, after relying on the influence of her mother INEZ during her years as a child and teenage actress.

The Spider-Man actress, who made a big impression at the age of 12 in Interview With the Vampire, now asserts her independence and chooses her own parts.

And Dunst, now 22, is no longer taken in by all the praise heaped on her by film set sycophants.

"You get a lot of accolades when you're young from people on film and that can be mistaken for love, but then you realise it's lies."
