British film-maker Kirk Jones has agreed to direct an adaptation of 1990s road-trip drama STANNO TUTTI BENE, called EVERYBODY'S FINE. Jones, who first made a name for himself with his award-winning Absolut Vodka TV adverts in the early 1990s and has since gone on to direct films WAKING NED and NANNY MCPHEE, hopes to keep much of the originality from the original Italian film. He tells trade magazine Variety, "This is a story with enormous heart that will translate perfectly to modern-day America with the humour and emotion of the original picture still intact." The film tells the story of a widower who embarks on a road-trip to see his children after realising his wife was the only connection he had to them.
