Kirk Douglas apparently has the ability to stop air turbulence.
The Spartacus star was once on a plane with movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, when he showed that his intimidating nature is enough to calm the skies.
Sharing an anecdote about the 99-year-old actor during an event at 92nd Street Y in New York on Tuesday (29Nov16), Harvey told the audience that Kirk had blown him away with his unusual ability.
An audience member told the New York Post's gossip column Page Six: "Harvey said Douglas, mid-conversation, said he ‘would take care of it,’ walked towards the cockpit, had a conversation with someone, and shortly after the turbulence stopped."
Harvey was joined by his brother Bob for the conversation evening, with several audience members surprised to find prizes left under their seats - including invites to the infamous Weinstein Golden Globes party and the premieres of Matthew MCConaughey's Gold and Michael Keaton's The Founder.
Kirk will be marking his 100th birthday next week (09Dec16), and son Michael Douglas recently revealed celebrations for the landmark birthday have turned into a "major function" - despite the actor just wanting a small get-together over tea.
“He is 100 on December 9th and I’m in charge of planning the party," Michael told U.K. chat show host Jonathan Ross. "I said ‘let’s maybe have an afternoon lunch’ but then he doesn’t like to watch people eat so we said, ‘let’s do a tea’ so we’re down to a tea and we’re just trying to get the details worked out but it’s turning out to be a major function.”
Michael told the host his father is "doing absolutely great" and "tends to fly" around on his walker with wheels bent at a 45 degree angle. He is confident his dad could easily go on to 101 because he's "rocking" and working on a book with Michael's stepmother Anne.
