Kimberley Walsh is ''freaking out'' about becoming a solo artist.
The Girls Aloud singer is excited yet nervous about releasing her album of classic Broadway song covers, 'Centre Stage', on February 4, even though there isn't much direct competition in the market.
She mused: ''It's weird having your own album and seeing the hard copy - it's freaking me out but it's exciting. I think because it's something I'm doing that's not competing with anyone else, it feels less scary in a way. There's not loads of direct competition, it's just something I really wanted to do.''
The 31-year-old beauty confessed there is more pressure on her having been one fifth of the biggest-selling girl group of the 21st century, so her recent experiences on stage in 'Shrek: The Musical' and reaching the final on 'Strictly Come Dancing' have helped conquer her anxieties.
Kimberley told OK! magazine: ''Yes. The Girls Aloud stuff feels easy for me now, even after 'Shrek' and 'Strictly', the pressure is so much less when you're in a group. But all the things I've done in my time out have prepared me for this, so that's good.''
