A number of signs designed to look like official notices have been erected around the city, emblazoned with the words "No Kardashian Parking Anytime".

They have appeared at a number of locations including outside a branch of the Kardashians' DASH clothing boutique, and a street artist who uses the name Plastic Jesus has now claimed responsibility.

He has revealed the stunt was inspired by a recent brush with the Kardashians when he became stuck in a traffic jam as photographers rushed to snap one of the reality TV stars.

Plastic Jesus, who previously launched a campaign called Stop Making Stupid People Famous, tells The Hollywood Reporter, "The Kardashian family has become ingrained in our culture. We've allowed mainstream media to become so profit-driven, we are sacrificing genuine news stories to satiate our vapid celebrity obsessions... (But) without us, there would be no market for the Kardashians. We are equally, if not more so, to blame... The same people who will tag these parking signs on social media are the same people who will buy In Touch at the supermarket later this week."
