Kiefer Sutherland, the American Hollywood star famed for playing 'Jack Bauer' in the hit drama series '24', is to make his Broadway debut in the award winning play, 'That Championship Season', reports BBC News. 39-year-old Sutherland will star alongside Chris Noth in the production, who played 'Mr Big', in 'Sex and the City'.
The play follows the story of four former US college athletes who reunite with their basketball coach, 20 years after winning the state championship. Brian Cox, Jim Gaffigan and Jason Patric are also set to star in the production, and Gregory Mosher will direct.
Sutherland, who had success as a young actor in films such as 'Lost Boys' and 'Flatliners', has enjoyed a career revival in recent years as the star of '24', a role that has seen him win best lead actor at the Emmy Awards. Although it was recently announced that season eight of the series would be the final instalment, there has been increasing rumours of a big screen adaption. It has not yet been confirmed when 'That Championship Season' will begin its run on Broadway.
