If you haven't heard already, 2012 saw Kid Koala release his latest album, the SP1200 opus '12 bit Blues.' Not only is it one of the finest musical statements in his illustrious, ever-evolving career, but he's also been playing an incredible live show. In fact, 'live show' barely does it justice. If Kid Koala has long threatened to break the shackles of performance and truly transcend, with The Vinyl Vaudeville Tour, he finally has. Dementedly enjoyable, sweetly infectious and maniacally deranged, it's as if he's cracked open his own mind and let the carnival inside spew out into the world.
There are puppets, dancing robots & dancing girls, singalongs, limbo contests, paper airplanes, radio-controlled helicopters and gigantic cardboard turntables. Very special guests Adira Amram and the Experience (from NYC) will also make a cameo, doing a hilarious high energy 20 minute musical comedy workout to warm things up. Just take a moment to imagine all those things happening, because we ain't kidding. This show has been making the most jaded of big-city music-boys laugh, love and limbo across the world. There is no other show like it; it's entertainment of the truest, most classic kind.
So come for the fun and silliness, or come for the music, or come for both, but come. It may look like Kid Koala is messing around, but this is a serious musician.
