Movie bosses have altered Kevin Spacey's filming schedule for the new SUPERMAN sequel - so he can appear in a London play at the same time as playing villain LEX LUTHER.

Fans of the OSCAR winner were confused to discover Spacey had signed to star alongside Kate Bosworth and Brandon Routh in the BRYAN SINGER-directed SUPERMAN RETURNS, which will begin filming in Sydney, Australia, on 3 March (05).

Spacey is due to appear in two plays at London's Old Vic Theatre, NATIONAL ANTHEMS and PHILADELPHIA STORY, from February until the end of July (05).

But a Superman spokesman explains, "Superman is a lengthy shoot and Bryan was gracious enough to let him join right at the end, after completing both plays at the Old Vic."
