Kevin Spacey has laughed off press reports he signs autographs through a special hole-in-the-wall. Media stories claimed the Hollywood actor had built an 'autograph flap' at the Old Vic theatre in London so he didn't have to come face-to-face with fans. But Spacey insists he has created a special signing area where theatre-goers can get up close to the artistic director. He says, "I don't want to live with security guards, but I do want to feel protected, so it was suggested we create a barn door. "It's great - I can open it, have a little one-on-one time with my fans, there's a table that drops down to sign on, and the programmes don't get wet in the rain. "But the media turned this into an arrogance thing, doing what they normally do - turning a simple solution to a problem into another chance to cut me up. "I've kind of got used to the inventiveness of the press."
