Kevin Spacey is set to give China's film industry a major boost - he's agreed to star in a new Chinese movie.
The actor has signed up to take one of the lead roles in director Dayyan Eng's black comedy Inseparable, which will be shot in both Mandarin and English.
The film, about a troubled young man who befriends a mysterious American ex-pat, is scheduled to begin filming in southern China later this month (Jan10) - making Spacey the highest profile Hollywood actor to tackle a role in a local Chinese production, according to Variety.com.
