Aspiring rapper Kevin Federline begged concert organisers not to cancel his appearance at New York City's Webster Hall on Saturday night (04NOV06), despite poor ticket sales. Britney Spears' husband's debut album, PLAYING WITH FIRE, was released last week (31OCT06) to a less than enthusiastic reception. Only 300 fans showed up at the venue, which is designed to hold 1,500 revellers. A bartender at the event tells American publication Star, "They were going to cancel this concert, but he begged them to keep it on. He had to fight with them to keep this concert." Federline was supposed to go on at 7 pm, but, the bartender reveals, "He was holding things up because there weren't enough fans. He was backstage waiting for more people to show up. "It was a bad idea - he shouldn't have neglected the fans that were there." Federline finally took the stage at 10 pm - three hours late, and rapped for only half an hour. According to an eyewitness, by the last song, "only one-third of the audience had stayed until the end."
