The Timber hitmaker took to Twitter on Sunday (31Jul16) to share a crowdfunding campaign co-founded by her mother, Pebe Sebert, to help cover the medical costs for friend Katerina Tate's 13-year-old daughter, Isabelle.

The teen suffers from the degenerative Charcot Marie Tooth disease, which severely affected her ability to walk. Isabelle, who is described as a "talented singer songwriter who plan (sic) to spread awareness through her music" on the crowdfunding page, recently underwent extensive surgery on her legs, in the hopes of being fitted with leg braces to help her get back on her feet.

Sebert's campaign aims to raise $75,000 (£56,700) for the Tates, and Kesha has now helped to boost donations by sharing a link to the fundraiser on

"A beautiful friend of mine needs our help to fight her disease," she wrote. "Please read her story and share if you can".

In the latest update for supporters, Sebert and her pal Eileen Bray shared how tough a path Isabelle faced on her road to recovery.

"The next month will be quite challenging as she will be wheelchair bound and unable to put any weight on her feet," they wrote. "Katerina is absolutely overwhelmed by the love, the messages, the support and most of all the prayers you all showed her family. Before she went in for surgery Isabelle said that she has never felt more loved...

"Katerina is deeply grateful for all the messages of love ,prayers and support. Thank you, thank you!!!!"

The initiative had raised more than $4,000 (£3,025) as WENN went to press.
