Kerry Washington believes she is the luckiest actress in Hollywood.

The 'Scandal' star - who recently revealed she thought about becoming a psychologist instead of carving out a career in acting - admits she can't believe she gets to juggle successful roles on TV and the big screen.

The 36-year-old actress told the June issue of Elle magazine: ''I'm the luckiest broad in Hollywood now.

''To be the lead actor on Scandal and to be in the highest-earning Tarantino movie ('Django Unchained') - I don't get to ask for more.''

Despite being heralded as a style icon, Kerry claims she only recently discovered that she enjoys getting dressed up while promoting her new movie 'Peeples'.

She said: ''I found out I enjoy the process. All these people show up at my house, they all have kits, someone has dresses. And it's like, Let's have fun. It's not all about me. We're able to create stories on the red carpet.''

The actress recently confessed she found it extremely difficult to play a woman trapped in slavery in 'Django Unchained' and the film left her emotionally drained.

She previously said: ''I feel like I barely survived 'Django' emotionally. The violence. Hearing the N-word every day. It cost me a lot psychologically, but it was worth it to tell that story.''

She also said she is looking forward to taking on a variety of different roles in the future.

She said: ''I'm a goofy person. That's how I ended up in 'Peeples'. Tyler Perry saw me joking around...and said, 'I had no idea you were this silly.''

The June issue of Elle magazine will be available on May 21st.
