The celebrities join Sheryl Sandberg, who is the chief operating officer of Facebook and founder of, Emma Watson, Lena Dunham, newswoman Megyn Kelly, and tennis ace Serena Williams for the Together We Can initiative, which launched on Thursday (23Jun16) and aims to promote women supporting women.

"I'm not sure what my life would look like if it were not for Shonda Rhimes," Washington says about the Scandal creator in a promo for the campaign, while Emma Watson praises Sofia Coppola for supporting "my work and (making) me believe that I could do more."

"The women I work with are everything," Selena adds.

"The idea that another woman is taking something from you is kind of shifting, Lena continues.

"Together we can get to equality, together we can stand up to anything and anyone. Together we can make the workplace a better place... When women lean in together, we accomplish amazing things. Let's lean in together," they conclude.

"So many women are lending their voices to this campaign because they have benefited firsthand from the support of other women and know what a difference it can make," a press release from Sandberg reads.

"According to LeanIn.Org and MCKinsey's Women in the Workplace study, at the current pace it will take more than one hundred years to reach gender parity in the C-suite (in business). We can't wait that long for change, which is why women have to act now. When we support each other, we help level the playing field and get to equality more quickly."
