After yesterday's news that she had suffered a miscarriage, Kerry Katona has now been told that she is in fact still pregnant.
In a cruel twist of fate, the ex-Atomic Kitten singer was told she had lost her baby on the same day that she announced the pregnancy in OK! magazine.
Kerry appears on the front cover of the celebrity mag with her husband alongside the quotes "Oh no! I'm pregnant again!"
Her publicist, Max Clifford, told the Mirror: "Kerry was only a few weeks pregnant. She's sad but she's young and healthy and they had a baby not so long ago."
But after returning to hospital in Macclesfield on Tuesday evening for a further check-up, the baby's heartbeat was discovered.
"Kerry went back into hospital for a medical procedure," Clifford explained.
"However, a blood test revealed surprising results her pregnancy hormones had gone up, not down. Kerry was taken for a second scan and was shown her babys 3mm heart beat.
It has emerged that the misdiagnosis was a result of an incorrect assessment of Katona's due date - she is only five weeks pregnant, not seven to eight, as previously thought.
Clifford added: "She is still at risk of complications - however she and Mark (Croft, her husband) are ecstatic that she is still pregnant with their baby."
The couple flew to Italy earlier this month for a lavish wedding blessing and have a seven-month-old daughter together, named Heidi.
Kerry also has two daughters, six-year-old Molly and four-year-old Lilly Sue from her previous marriage to Westlife singer Brian McFadden.
