R&B star Keri Hilson stops at schools in every city she visits to "shed the perception" students have about fame.
The Knock You Down hitmaker recently cleared her busy schedule to make an appearance at an east London school, where she encouraged youngsters to work hard to reach their goals.
Hilson insists it's important for teens to understand her life in the spotlight is not as glamorous as it seems.
She tells Britain's Metro, "I love doing it and try to do it most places I visit. (In London, I visited) a class of kids who wanted to work in entertainment.
"I love shedding the perception they have of me - the clothes, the hair and make-up, the heels, the expensive cars. The person they get in real life is very different to that. They each had a dream about working in the industry and I gave them the real (story). I don't sugar-coat it when I talk to kids."
