Kelly Clarkson is experiencing non-stop morning sickness but is still 'super-excited' to be pregnant with her first child.
Kelly Clarkson is battling severe morning sickness.
The 'Stronger' hitmaker, who is expecting her first child with her new husband, Brandon Blackstock, next year, confessed she is experiencing non-stop nausea as she is still in the first trimester.
The 31-year-old star told America's 'TODAY' show this morning (26.11.13): ''I don't know why they call it morning sickness. That's my big joke right now because it's all day and all night. I am super-excited about being pregnant, though. I'm just looking forward to the second trimester . . . they say it's better.''
Kelly, who was very open in the past about her desire to start a family, also explained why she decided to share her happy news so early in her pregnancy.
She said: ''We were trying to wait until the end of my first trimester because you're supposed to, I guess, because you're less likely to have a miscarriage. But everybody kept talking about it and I had to cancel something because I've been so ill. I didn't want people to think I was cancelling because I'm lazy or something, so we just told people.''
The singer believes she is having a baby girl and has already picked a name.
She said: ''Well, it's a gut feeling, too, because she's killing me. And of course it's a girl, right, causing the trouble. So, it's gotta be a girl.''
Asked about the name, she added: ''We're not saying because I don't want someone stealing my baby name and I'm so early. We named our kid before we were even pregnant.''
